Sequoia National Park
Over President's Weekend, my friend and I headed out to Sequoia to camp. We had a great time seeing the big trees up close on a ten mile hike, but we saw a storm rolling in as the sun went down. We made it back to our camp in time to get a fire going before the snow started to fall. After eating, we put out the fire and immediately went into the tent and sleeping bags with all our clothes on to keep warm against the 18 degree weather. We woke up in the morning to a blanket of snow and quickly packed up to get warm in the car on the drive home.
But it was so worth it to be out in that beauty and forget the comparison of the city and all the many tasks of life. There is a simplicity to life out in nature--a deep breathing--a peace.
